Our solar-soiling map, calculator, and any dollar figures they show are modeled estimates for general information only. They are derived from public imagery and records and from published research (including Kimber et al., Mejía & Kleissl, and UC San Diego field studies), applied with standard assumptions such as typical sun hours, energy rates, and system size.

They are explicitly:

• not a professional energy audit, engineering assessment, or roof inspection;
• not financial, investment, or tax advice; and
• not a promise or guarantee of any particular loss, savings, or result.

Actual soiling loss and any savings from cleaning vary with weather, rainfall, equipment, panel tilt, local conditions, and how you use your system, and may be materially different from an estimate. Do not make a purchase, cleaning, or financial decision solely based on these figures; consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your system.

The site and tools are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of inaccuracies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Better Behavior Foundation, its fiscal sponsor Ecologistics, Inc., and its volunteers and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any decision you make or action you take in reliance on the site or its estimates. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The tools use third-party services (for example, map tiles, geocoding, and weather data) and the site may link to external sites. We do not control and are not responsible for those services or their content.

The site’s content, research, and design are owned by the Better Behavior Foundation or used with permission (see our image credits). You may read and share it for non-commercial purposes with attribution; please contact us for other uses.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
